Virtual School Curriculum

The Calvert Partners virtual school program allows educators to meet the individual educational needs of each enrolled student. Before beginning a course of study, students take a placement exam, including both objective tests and written composition, to evaluate concept knowledge and skills application. One of the primary objectives of the Calvert program is to create a passion for learning. Calvert Partners offers two paths to academic success.

The Calvert Virtual School Curriculum

The Calvert Curriculum is built on a rich foundation of reading, writing and arithemetic. That foundation is then layered with history, science, music, geography and the arts for a comprehensive learning experience.

In an age where reading and mathematics are emphasized at the expense of other subjects in order to meet standardized test goals, this point is significant. Reading and writing strategies are applied, reinforced, and enriched across content areas to develop higher-order thinking skills, content mastery and learning strategies that last a lifetime.

Through collaborative learning, leadership development and increased technological application, students receive the skills they need to succeed in today's global economy.

The Calvert Curriculum is research-based, standards-aligned and world renowned.

Verticy Learning Curriculum

Students who struggle with reading, spelling, or composition, are often overwhelmed in all subject areas. Over time, their interest in academics may decline, and worse, they may become discouraged.

Verticy Learning provides an innovative academic solution for students in third through eighth grades with dyslexia or other language-based learning differences (LLDs).

The Verticy Learning Curriculum is based on the Calvert Curriculum. Students remain on pace in core subject areas while improving fundamental reading and writing skills.

Verticy Learning integrates specialized Orton-Gillingham teaching methods, assistive technologies and other multi-sensory techniques into a dynamic curriculum.
